When everybody is able to make news, to report and, most important, to reach viewers and readers, organization plays an important role. How to organize this endless stream of information?
In an interview, BBC’s News Director (and blogger!) Richard Sambrook goes into this question and sees here the perfect role of traditional news media. ‘Editorial judgement’ should be what attracts reader and viewer of a magazine. Off the Bus, On the Line (Via journalism.co.uk)
Liberal online newspaper Huffington Post launched a new project in citizen journalism: starting middle of july, OffTheBus presents another view on the election campaigns for presidency in the US. Citizen journalists are going to spread their views and opinions through this platform. Arianna Huffington writes:
‘Our disparate mix of citizen reporters won’t be part of the mainstream pack covering the campaigns - and will come at it from a wide range of different angles and perspectives, adding a new dimension to campaign journalism’ […] ‘Even OffTheBus, it’s going be an amazing ride.’
