1 Content Makers Are Accused of Exaggerating Copyright (Link requires subscription)
An association of companies, some of which are the usual target of recent media lawsuits, have joined forces to fight overstated copyright infringement warnings from content creators. The idea is that such warnings might intimidate consumers from using copyrighted material in ways that are not illegal.
The recent acquisition of the Wall Street Journal by Rupert Murdoch was the perfect excuse to debate and review the “paid content” model some media outlets are using today on the Internet.
