Patrick Haney (Web Design Inspiration)

Posted in Visual, Design on June 15th, 2007. By Ona Vinyamata.

An image is a visual representation produced or perceived on a limited surface. Any blank surface to be filled with visual contents is a challenge, but imagine how this challenge grows when that blank space has the possibility to extend through infinite back doors opened by hypertextuality. Ask web designers.

Patrick Haney is a user interface designer at Harvard University. Over a year and a half ago, Haney started a little set on Flickr to post screenshots of websites he found inspirational, interesting or otherwise attractive. That little collection has now close to 400 screenshots.

We feel specialy inspired by the ones that find elegance in blank space, are based on “real life scenes” and those which defy common grids.
